Verena Hehle

Verena Hehle has extensive work experience in the field of research and development, particularly in the areas of immunology and antibody discovery. Verena is currently working as an Associate Director of Research at uniQure since November 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Scientist in Immunology at uniQure from June 2021 to November 2022.

Before joining uniQure, Verena worked at Merus N.V. as a Scientist in R&D, Antibody Discovery from March 2019 to June 2021. Verena also worked at Institut Pasteur as an Industrial PostDoc from April 2015 to March 2019.

Verena's earlier experience includes working as a Research Associate at King's College London from March 2013 to March 2015, and as a Post-Doc at St George's, University of London from December 2012 to March 2013. Verena also completed their PhD in Biotechnology at St George's, University of London from October 2008 to November 2012, where they focused on optimizing antibody expression in tobacco and exploring novel technologies for plant-produced pharmaceuticals and vaccines.

Verena started their research career with a role as a Researcher at Corvinus University of Budapest from September 2007 to February 2008.

Verena Hehle completed their Master's degree in Nutritional Science from Justus Liebig University Giessen from 2006 to 2008. Verena also obtained additional certifications, including completion of the INSEAD OEP DEL program and participation in the Entrepreneurs in Clinical Academia program offered by INSEAD in 2018.
