Paul Gip

Paul Gip has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity. Paul is currently working at UniSuper as a Cyber Security/Threat Hunter since November 2021. Prior to this, they were at Lendlease from 2018 to 2021, where they held the position of Sr Cyber Security Specialist. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Cyber Security Analyst at Trustwave. Before that, they worked at Symantec as a Security Engineer from 2013 to 2016 and at Sophos as a Security Engineer from 2010 to 2013. Paul started their career at IBM as an IT Support Analyst from 2008 to 2010.

Paul Gip obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Charles Sturt University, which they attended from 2002 to 2005. In addition to their degree, Paul has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the SANS SEC541 certification from the SANS Institute in June 2023, the Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert certification from Microsoft in April 2023, the Microsoft Security Operations Analyst certification from Microsoft in August 2022, and the Recorded Future Certified Analyst certification from Recorded Future in April 2022. Paul also holds certifications such as the Splunk Core Certified Power User from Splunk in January 2022, the ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Executive™ from SkillFront in November 2021, and the Foundations of Operationalizing MITRE ATT&CK from AttackIQ in October 2021. Some other certifications obtained by Paul include the ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Internal Auditor™, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Lead Auditor™, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Risk Manager™, and Siemplify Certified SOAR Analyst (SCSA) from SkillFront and Siemplify in October 2021. Furthermore, they hold certifications like the Siemplify Platform Fundamentals (SPF) from Siemplify in October 2021, the CyberArk Certified Trustee from CyberArk in September 2021, and the ISO/IEC 27001 INFORMATION SKILLFRONT SECURITY ASSOCIATE from SkillFront in September 2021.
