Theresa Carrington

Theresa Carrington is an accomplished leader and entrepreneur dedicated to eradicating poverty through innovative models and programs. Currently serving as a Speaker at the United States Department of State Speakers Bureau, Theresa is also the Founder of Ten By Three and The Blessing Basket Project, organizations designed to empower artisans and create sustainable economic opportunities for over 2,000 individuals globally. In addition, Theresa holds the title of Queen Mother of Development for the Zaare and Nyariga Traditional Area in Ghana, focusing on the welfare of local women and families. A recognized figure in responsible leadership, Theresa has been involved with the BMW Foundation Responsible Leader initiative and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations as an Intercultural Leader. With a background in journalism that includes 20 years of investigative reporting and multiple Emmy Awards, Theresa holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Washington University in St. Louis.

United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)

#UNAOC is a United Nations political initiative of the Secretary-General. The primary mission of UNAOC is to forge collective political will and mobilize concerted action aimed to improve cross-cultural understanding and cooperation among countries, people, and communities. The Alliance develops its actions, geared around education, youth, media, migration, and women as peace mediators, at both the governmental and civil society levels, and works towards countering forces that fuel polarization and extremism.
