Harumi Fuentes Furuya has extensive experience in the field of human rights and international relations, currently serving at the United Nations Human Rights since December 2008 in various roles including Human Rights Officer, Associate Donor and External Relations Officer, and Associate Human Rights Officer. Prior to this, Harumi worked as an Associate Programme Analyst at UNDP from October 2006 to December 2008, and as an Assistant at the Embassy of Japan from March 2005 to October 2006. Harumi's career began as a Research Assistant at Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía, A.C., from October 2000 to June 2002. Academically, Harumi holds a Master's degree in Development Economics and International Development from the International University of Japan and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
