Christopher Garroway

Christopher Garroway currently serves as an Economist and Development Coordination Officer at the United Nations, where responsibilities include acting as the country economist for India and contributing to the G20 Secretariat during India's 2023 G20 Presidency. Previously, Christopher held the position of Economist with the UN Global Crisis Response Group, focusing on the impacts of the Ukraine war on various global systems. Prior roles include Economic Affairs Officer at UNCTAD, where Christopher supported the Secretary-General on development finance and the 2030 Agenda, and Associate Economic Affairs Officer at UNESCAP, where analysis centered on poverty and development finance in South Asia. Earlier experience includes work as a Statistician/Analyst at the OECD and as a Program Assistant at The World Bank. Christopher holds an M.Phil. in Economic Policy and Analysis from Ecole des hautes Etudes en Sciences sociales and a B.A. in Linguistics and Russian & Slavic Studies from McGill University.
