Maya V. is an accomplished journalist and photographer with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Since September 2005, Maya has been with United Press International as a Photographer and Editor, covering a range of topics including French politics, economy, fashion, and sports events, notably the Olympics. Prior work includes a tenure at Associated Reporters Abroad from 2010 to January 2020, specializing in feature writing for prominent US media from Paris. Previously, Maya served as Photo Editor for the Paris Bureau of Associated Press and held various roles at Agence France Presse, including Chief Photographer for Indonesia, where significant events such as the May '98 riots and the East Timor independence movement were documented. Maya's education includes a Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University, a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University, and a Maîtrise in Neurobiology from Sorbonne University.
