Jean Dobbs

Jean Dobbs has over 30 years of experience in editorial and publishing. Jean is currently the Editorial Director and VP of Publications at the United Spinal Association, where they provide editorial and art direction for New Mobility magazine, newmobility.com, and NM social media. In addition, they manage the editorial staff. Prior to this position, Jean was the Editorial Director at No Limits Communications for 12 years. Jean also served as the Managing Editor at Miramar Communications for 4 years. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at New Mobility Magazine, ByLines, and CUE Magazine (The Chapel Hill Newspaper) where they gained experience in associate editing, copy editing, and entertainment writing.

Jean Dobbs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology, Philosophy, and Sociology) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they attended from 1984 to 1988. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1991 to 1993.
