Deputy Branch Chief, Future Operations Division at United States Cyber Command

Michelle Bostic has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and military operations. Michelle currently works at the U.S. Cyber Command as the Deputy Branch Chief of the Future Operations Division, where they lead a team that integrates national-level requirements for cyberspace operations planning. Their role emphasizes cyber effects and intel-driven network defense operations, as well as promoting unity of effort between cyber components and joint force headquarters.

Prior to their current role, Michelle was an IDE Student at Marine Corps University, where they gained further knowledge and expertise in their field. Michelle also served as the Chief of Weapons and Tactics at the 33 Network Warfare Squadron, leading a team of defensive operators specializing in various cyber defense activities. In this role, they were responsible for developing Air Force tactics for the Air Force Cyberspace Defense weapon system and evaluating operational requirements against emerging technology.

Michelle has also been a Student/Graduate at the USAF Weapons School, an Executive Officer and Cyberspace Officer at the United States Air Force - SAF/CIO A6S, and the Chief of Non-kinetic Analysis and Targeting Team at the 609 Air Operations Center (CAOC). In each of these roles, they contributed to the advancement of cyber operations and employed their strategic thinking and leadership skills.

Michelle has shown their expertise in cyber operations in various other positions as well, such as J3 Cyber - Special Operations Joint Task Force at Joint Special Operations Command, Troop Commander - Cyberspace Operations at an Army Special Operations unit, and Joint Targeting Officer at the UNITED STATES AFRICA COMMAND.

Michelle's career in the military began as a Naval Intelligence Officer at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 2, where they gained valuable experience in intelligence operations.

Overall, Michelle Bostic has a strong background in cybersecurity and leadership in military operations, with a focus on strategic planning, tactical execution, and integration of cyber capabilities.

Michelle Bostic has a Bachelor of Science degree in English with a minor in French from the United States Naval Academy, which they obtained before 2008. In 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Diplomacy with a focus on Counter-Terrorism at Norwich University. More recently, in 2021 to 2022, they attended Marine Corps University, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Michelle has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they received the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA. In 2020, they obtained the GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) certification and the GIAC Cloud Security Architecture and Operations certification from GIAC Certifications.
