About this role: 

A paid internship running 5 days a week, from 9am – 4pm from January 2025 until July 2025. This position is conducted in a hybrid workspace in Liberty Corner, NJ with travel required on-site for various 2025 USGA Championships. Hours and days will increase while on-site at USGA Championships, including weekends.

The purpose of the position is to learn and assist with all aspects of the USGA ticket & credential operation. Including but not limited to assisting with ticket sales & resolution, credential production, customer service, and gate operations. Interns will lead fan facing customer service, learn ticket strategies, assist with all ticket administration duties, and focus on guest experience while overseeing box office operations and will-call functions when on-site.

What you'll do:

  • Learn various ticketing platforms to investigate purchases and assist with account questions
  • Build ticket offers and input contractual obligations, pricing, and offer details in various systems and forms
  • Manage ticket questions and requests in a timely manner while also providing solutions to mobile ticket inquiries including but not limited to transfers, upgrades, and resale assistance via email, phone and chat
  • Learn Freshdesk, our customer service helpdesk platform
  • Lead group sales efforts and work directly with bulk ticket purchasers
  • Help with the ticket and credential fulfillment, production and distribution
  • While on-site, sell tickets at box offices and distribute credentials at will-call with a strong focus in customer interaction, ticket resolution and access control
  • Learn the credential platform, Accredit Solutions
  • Work closely with various other departments including marketing, championship administration and operations, and hospitality teams to provide fan feedback and drive guest experience
  • Manage gate operations while on-site, upholding USGA policies and communicating those to security, volunteers and fans
  • Assist with day-to-day functions, including special projects and mailings
  • Able to work long hours, nights and/or weekends as necessary

Where you'll be: 

  • This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. Please note that housing is not provided for interns in the NJ office.
  • Extensive travel is required during Championship weeks in May and June. When traveling on-site, team members will surpass 70+ hours per Championship week. Travel is continuous for multiple weeks, including weekends and holidays. Predetermined expenses are covered by the USGA when traveling on-site.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Clear and professional phone manners
  • Golf knowledge a plus
