Simon Detmer is an accomplished professional with a background in promoting inclusivity for para-athletes and advancing research in engineering and geology. Current involvement with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee focuses on enhancing collegiate opportunities for athletes with disabilities through the NCAA Para Inclusion Project. Previous roles include serving as a Research Assistant at Calvin University, where Simon advocated for universal design in athletic facilities, and as a Research Intern at Cleveland State University, developing a dynamic walker for rehabilitation. Simon's research experience also includes projects at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Calvin University, where Simon utilized advanced methodologies to study geological structures and planetary tectonics. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Planetary Geology from Calvin University, graduated with honors.
