Kurt Sander

Kurt Sander has extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as the Area Manager of QBOP Operations at United States Steel Corporation since September 2018, following a role as Division Manager of Steelmaking and Casting Operations. Prior to this, Kurt held various positions at ArcelorMittal from February 2010 to September 2018, including Caster Manager and Senior Turn Supervisor, overseeing union crews in the production of steel slabs. Previous experience includes five years as Plant Manager at Fuchs Lubricants, where responsibilities encompassed production and distribution of lubricant products, and roles at Acme Steel and Nucor Steel focused on production processes in flat rolled steel. Kurt began their career at Inland Steel, progressing from Co-op Student Engineer to Project Engineer. Kurt holds an MBA in Finance and Derivatives from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago, as well as a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
