VP People & Culture at United Way of Calgary and Area

Cynthia (Ewanchyna) Tremblay CPHR has a diverse and extensive work experience. Cynthia currently holds the role of VP People & Culture at United Way of Calgary and Area, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of People and Culture from January 2021 to May 2022.

From 2004 to 2020, Cynthia worked at The Calgary Airport Authority, where they had various leadership positions. Cynthia was the Vice President of People and Engagement from October 2019 to August 2020. Before that, they served as the Vice President of Human Resources from July 2013 to October 2019, and as the Senior Director of Human Resources from January 2004 to July 2013.

Before their time at The Calgary Airport Authority, Cynthia worked at ING Canada as the Manager of Compensation & Benefits. During their tenure from 1997 to 2003, they led the design and implementation of benefits and compensation programs for the western region of the company and provided HR consulting services to leaders. Cynthia also played a crucial role in the due diligence process for four mergers and acquisitions.

Cynthia began their career at Western Union Insurance as an HR Advisor from May 1995 to August 1997, where they acted as an HR generalist and administered payroll for the organization.

Throughout their career, Cynthia has demonstrated their ability to develop and oversee HR strategies that align with business objectives and foster a positive organizational culture. Cynthia has a proven track record of building collaborative relationships with leaders, attending board meetings, and providing updates on HR matters.

Cynthia (Ewanchyna) Tremblay CPHR holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resources from the University of Alberta. In addition, they have obtained various certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from WorldatWork, Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) from CPHR Alberta, Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta, Leadership Development and Succession Strategist Certificate from Human Capital Institute (HCI), and Workplace Communications Certificate from University of Calgary Continuing Education.
