Laura Murphy

Laura Murphy, MBA, has extensive experience in corporate partnerships and resource development. Laura is currently serving as the Interim Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships at United Way of Massachusetts Bay since October 2023, and previously held the role of Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships starting from August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at United Way of Greater Plymouth County as the Director of Resource Development from February 2021 to August 2022, and as a Donor Engagement Specialist from October 2019 to February 2021. Laura also has experience in the insurance industry as an Agent at New York Life Insurance Company from August 2017 to March 2020. Laura has a strong background in fundraising and donor engagement, having worked as the Director of Annual Giving at Hockomock Area YMCA from May 2013 to June 2017. Furthermore, they served as the Special Events Manager at The ALS Association MA Chapter from June 2011 to May 2013, and as the Assistant Director, UMass Boston Fund at UMass Boston from January 2011 to June 2011. Laura's early career includes a role as the Director of Development at Old Colony YMCA from August 2007 to January 2011, where they led annual giving initiatives and organized successful events.

Laura Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Rec Management from Franklin Pierce University in 2005. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Leadership from the same university in 2007.
