Rui Manuel Marta

Rui Manuel Marta has extensive experience in law enforcement and sports administration, currently serving as the Deputy Director of ICPOL - FCT R&D unit at Polícia de Segurança Pública since January 1996. In addition to this role, Rui serves as the Vice-President of FEDERAÇÃO PORTUGUESA DE LUTAS AMADORAS and is an Ambassador for the Ethics in Sports Plan at Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude. An International referee since June 2000 for United World Wrestling, Rui also held the position of President of the International Police Association (Lisbon section) from January 2017 to April 2021 and was the Assistant Director at ICPOL-ISCPSI from January 2018 to October 2020. Rui's academic credentials include a Doctorate in International Relations: Geopolitics and Geoeconomics from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Police Sciences from Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna, and additional studies at Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa.
