Wyatt Decker

Wyatt Decker, M.D., MBA, is chief executive officer of Optum Health, a national integrated care delivery platform. Optum Health provides high-quality, accessible and equitable care and proactively engages people in managing their health and well-being through in-person, in-home, virtual and digital clinical platforms. Optum Health serves more than 100 million individuals through medical groups and clinics, ambulatory surgical and specialty care centers, behavioral health benefits and tools, and in-home and community health services. Optum Health also provides healthy lifestyle and prevention capabilities, and financial services solutions for consumers and health systems.

As CEO of Optum Health since 2019, Dr. Decker has accelerated a patient-centered, value-based care model to achieve quality outcomes and improved experiences for patients, while lowering the total cost of care and supporting the physician practice of medicine. Optum Health empowers care teams with the latest information, insights and best practices to help them efficiently coordinate all patient care, manage referrals and identify higher-quality, lower-cost options by leveraging distinctive assets in data, analytics, technology and clinical expertise.

Prior to joining Optum, Dr. Decker worked for Mayo Clinic for more than two decades, serving last in a dual role as chief medical information officer for Mayo Clinic and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona. At Mayo Clinic, Dr. Decker pioneered the use of digital technologies, including telemedicine and artificial intelligence, to deliver health care expertise to affiliated care providers nationwide, as well as led the digital strategy around engaging and empowering patients. Dr. Decker also served as a professor of emergency medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and directed the emergency medicine residency training program at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Decker holds an M.D. from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science from University of California, Santa Cruz.
