Brittany Jones

Brittany Jones, Ph.D., serves as a Toledo City Councilmember since February 2024 and holds the position of Survey & Evaluation Analyst at the United Way of Greater Toledo since May 2022. Brittany is the Founder and CEO of Growing Back To Your Roots, an initiative focused on research-driven food system policy, advocating for food accessibility and addressing racial and economic disparities. Previous roles include instructor at The University of Toledo and various positions at organizations such as Children’s Hunger Alliance and United North Corporation, where Brittany developed community programs and secured funding for housing projects. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Spatially-integrated Social Sciences from The University of Toledo and a Master's in Urban Planning from Wayne State University.
