David Avery

David Avery is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in corporate communications and government affairs. Currently serving as Vice President of Government Affairs at Uniti Group Inc. since August 2025, David has previously held key positions including Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Windstream from February 2016 to August 2025, and Director of Corporate Communications at Southwest Power Pool for a brief period in 2016. David's tenure at Windstream also includes roles as Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications from 2006 to 2015, and earlier experience as Staff Manager of Corporate Communications at Alltel from 1998 to 2006. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio/TV from Arkansas State University, attended from 1984 to 1988, and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1984.
