Riley Alvarez

Research Student at Unity Health Toronto

Riley Alvarez is currently a Research Student at Unity Health Toronto, working under Dr. Greg German on phage therapy regulatory frameworks since May 2024. Alvarez has significant experience in clinical research, volunteering at The Hospital for Sick Children in the CARRA Registry with Dr. Brian Feldman, and previously serving as a Student Researcher at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education under Dr. Becky Xi Chen. In addition to research roles, Alvarez is the Co-Editor-In-Chief and Associate Editor for the Journal of Undergraduate Life Sciences, which publishes research from undergraduate students. Alvarez has also held positions as a Newcomer Orientation Leader at Community Development Council Durham and a French as a Second Language Student Advisor with the Durham Catholic District School Board. Alvarez is pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology at the University of Toronto, with a strong academic background that includes participation in the Trinity One Program focusing on Medicine and Global Health.
