Kristofer Schlachter is a seasoned expert in machine learning, computer graphics, and video game development with extensive experience in academia and the gaming industry. As a Staff Research Scientist at Unity since December 2017, Kristofer conducts research on generative models for video game and spatial computing applications, while also leading a team focused on Generative Artificial Intelligence. Previously, Kristofer held various research positions at New York University, exploring the intersection of computer graphics and deep learning, with significant contributions to Virtual and Augmented Reality systems, fluid simulations, and procedural systems. Kristofer's early career included founding Gotham Wave Games and working as a contract game developer, further building expertise in game development and procedural content generation. Kristofer holds a PhD in Machine Learning & Computer Graphics and a Master's degree in Computer Science from New York University, along with a Bachelor's degree in History from Tulane University.
