Eustase Janky

Eustase JANKY began his medical studies in 1973 then he was in charge of the gynecology-obstetrics department at the Pointe-à-Pitre / Abymes University Hospital from 1990 to November 2016. Professor Janky is also the educational director of the school of midwives regional offices located in Martinique since 1991, which since 2013 has become the maieutics department attached to the university's faculty of medicine.

Member of the Board of Directors of the University of the Antilles and Guyana, now the University of the Antilles, he also sits on the Council of the Faculty of Medicine.

In 1997, a scientific collaboration started between Doctor Luc Multigner, a researcher at UMR INSERM 1085 in Paris, and Professor Janky on the 'environment and health' theme promotes the arrival of this colleague in Guadeloupe in 2008. Following his installation at the Faculty of Medicine of the Antilles Guyana 'Hyacinthe BASTARAUD', they collaborate to carry out the first work in Guadeloupe on chlordecone and human health and more particularly on the links between chlordecone and male sterility '.

Since then, pesticides have been the subject of many well-known research studies, particularly concerning the effects on children since traces of chlordecone have been found in pregnant women and also the influence of chlordecone on prostate cancer.

Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1995 to 2000, he was elected Dean in 2000 for a five-year term. He became Vice-President of the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2008 and was appointed Vice-President of the University of Guadeloupe (PUR) from 2009 to 2012.

He is a member and deputy director of the CELTEC research team, EA 4645.

He was promoted Knight of the Legion of Honor (2004) and Officer of the Order of Merit (2011).

Within his obstetric gynecology department at the Pointe à Pitre / Abymes University Hospital, Professor Janky has created a research atmosphere, relayed by Doctor Philippe Kadhel, who has been a university professor - hospital practitioner for two years and Head of Department since December 2016.

He is the signatory and co-signatory of numerous articles on a wide variety of themes but always related to obstetrics-gynecology.

On the medical level, he forged links with Martinique, Guyana and, upon his arrival in Guadeloupe, set up protocols for the care of patients at the regional level. Many general practitioners, obstetrician-gynecologists, and heads of obstetric gynecology departments in the region have been trained in its service.

Many African doctors (Beninese, Senegalese, Ivorians) have been trained as professors and have since become recognized heads of service.

Professor Janky has maintained privileged relations with his national colleagues. He is a member of the board of directors of the national college of French obstetrician-gynecologists and also of numerous national learned societies.

Locally, he is President of the College of Obstetrics and Perinatology of Guadeloupe.

Despite all its activities, it arouses among the population the desire to play sport based on scientific arguments. The reduction of the risks of cancer (breast, uterus, colon, etc.) and certain risk diseases including hypertension, diabetes, obesity can involve the practice of walking 5 days a week for approximately 1 hour.

Professor JANKY, the marathoner, has participated in renowned marathons including those in New York, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Bordeaux, etc ...

Accomplished in his discipline and his specialty, Professor JANKY intends to put his expertise and experience at the service of student youth in our regions.
