Location:  Scotts Valley, CA OR Hybrid (2+ day commitment to being onsite HQ - Scotts Valley, CA.)

Intention:  The Training and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and recognize performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to conduct regular learning and development needs assessments and to determine organizational learning objectives and develop a learning strategy.
  • Develop training and development programs including facilitator-led training, self-paced learning, and other learning experiences with emphasis on career development.
  • Obtain and /or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Plan, organize, and order supplies for employee development and training events.
  • Partner with Internal Communications to develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results and modify programs as needed based on the feedback.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Work effectively as a team member of the HR Team as well as with other members of cross-functional management.
  • Monitor and track spending against departmental budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Highly organized
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.  

 Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs for leaders, managers, and individual contributors, preferably in a tech environment.
  • Experience designing a learning and development strategy that integrates company values, overall business objectives, and fostering a strong culture. 
  • Certified professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
  • HRCI PHR or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.

UA Salary Range/Hourly Rate of Pay:  California Salary Range = $120K - $145K

Base salary/hourly rate of pay will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.
