Tim Potter has a diverse and extensive work experience in the music industry. Tim is currently working as the Senior Director - International Export Marketing at Universal Music Australia. In this role, they are responsible for planning, strategizing, and executing Australian and New Zealand artist releases outside of Australia and New Zealand. Tim works closely with international partner labels, artists, and their management to define marketing objectives and oversee campaign development and execution.

Prior to their current role, Tim founded Primitive Colours, a boutique music marketing, social media, and management company. Tim started the business in April 2021 as a consultancy solution for artists and labels looking to navigate the ever-changing music landscape and utilize Tim's expertise in cutting through the noise and utilizing effective marketing strategies.

Before founding Primitive Colours, Tim worked at EMI Music Australia as the Artist Development Lead, where they were responsible for the strategy and successful marketing campaigns for a roster of artists both domestically and internationally. Tim also built relationships with artists and their management and collaborated with various departments within the company to ensure innovative strategies were implemented.

Tim has also held various roles at Universal Music Australia and Sony Music Entertainment, where they worked in artist relations, promotions, marketing, and publicity. Notably, they served as the Director of International Marketing for Republic Records, Island Records, and Def Jam Recordings at Universal Music Group.

Throughout their career, Tim has managed marketing campaigns for artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake, Iggy Azalea, and many more. Tim has demonstrated a strong understanding of the music industry and an ability to adapt to its ever-evolving landscape.

Tim Potter attended the University of Technology Sydney from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a B Bus/BA degree. Tim'sdegree included the fields of study of International Marketing, International Studies, and Japanese.
