Álvaro Castro Lora

Álvaro Castro Lora has a diverse work experience. Álvaro is currently a Socio at Damma Legal Advisors, starting in 2023. Álvaro also holds various positions at Asociación Blockchain & DLT Perú ABPE since 2021, including Presidente and Director de Asuntos Regulatorios. At Universidad del Pacífico (PE), Álvaro serves as Director del Laboratorio de Innovación Legal, Profesor de Derecho para la Innovación y el Emprendimiento, and Profesor del PE Tributación de la Economía Digital. Álvaro is also a Professor of Law and Technology at the Law School and a Professor at PAD - Escuela de Dirección de la Universidad de Piura. Furthermore, Álvaro is an Embajador at Asociación Fintech del Perú, a Mentor at UTEC Ventures, and Chair GLT - Perú at LACChain Ecosistema. Additionally, they hold the role of Director at SUMARA Hub Legal. Álvaro has previously worked as a Professor of Legal Tech at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola and as the Bankruptcy Affairs Director at Restructure | Empresas y Pasivos.

Álvaro Castro Lora has a Licentiate degree in Law from Universidad de Piura, which they completed from 1997 to 2002. Álvaro later pursued further education and obtained an Especialización en Finanzas y Derecho Empresarial from Universidad ESAN, which they completed from 2004 to 2005. Álvaro then went on to earn a Master of Laws (LLM) in Banking and Financial Law from Queen Mary University of London between 2015 and 2016. In addition, they completed online courses in Future Commerce, Innovation, and Fintech from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016.
