Marcelo Porto is an Associate Professor and Researcher at Universidade Federal de Pelotas since October 2009, specializing in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Marcelo teaches various graduate and undergraduate courses, including Computer Architectures and Digital Circuits/Technics, while also leading research projects in video coding as part of the Video Technology Research Group (ViTech) and the Group of Architectures and Integrated Circuits (GACI). Additionally, Marcelo served as a Visiting Professor at Universidade de Coimbra from January to July 2015, focusing on complexity reduction in 2D/3D video encoders for mobile devices. Marcelo holds a Doutorado and a Mestrado in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, as well as a Bacharelado in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Pelotas.
