Thomas Claverie is an Associate Professor at Université de La Réunion since September 2023, previously serving as Maitre de Conférences at the Centre Universitaire de Formation et de Recherche from October 2013 to September 2023. Prior research experience includes postdoctoral positions at UC Davis, focusing on fish morphological diversity, and the University of Massachusetts and UC Berkeley, where studies involved the evolution and biomechanics of mantis shrimp raptorial appendages. Thomas Claverie completed a PhD in Marine Biology at the University of London from 2004 to 2007, following a Master of Biology in Biodiversity from the University of Lille in 2002 to 2003, and began a research career as a PhD student studying Munida rugosa at the University Marine Biological Station Millport from 2004 to 2007.
