Joelle McDonald

Visitor To The Computational And Information Systems Lab at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research

Joelle McDonald currently serves as a Visitor to the Computational and Information Systems Lab at UCAR, focusing on developing a 3D printable weather station to address weather data inequity for marginalized communities. As Vice President of Internal Operations for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at the University of Colorado Boulder, Joelle gathers feedback on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and organizes community outreach events. Joelle also contributes to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office in Athletics by creating a children's book aimed at raising awareness of LGBTQ+ representation in sports. Other experiences include advocating for student-athlete mental health, participating in academic advisory boards, and providing child and community support in educational settings. Joelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is pursuing a Master of Science in Creative Technology and Design for Social Impact at the University of Colorado Boulder.
