Pat Nichols is a seasoned professional in the field of software engineering and high-performance computing, currently serving as a Software Engineer at UCAR since April 2022 and an HPC Software Engineer III at NCAR since June 2015. Prior experience includes roles as a Scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and as a Sr. Scientist at DigitalGlobe, focusing on high-performance computing applications in remote sensing. Additional expertise in computational quantum chemistry was gained during time at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and academic research positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of North Dakota and the University of New Orleans involved computational chemistry and ferromagnetic nanoparticles.
