Prof. Dr. Thorsten Steinberg has a diverse work experience in the field of medical devices, research, and development. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Advisor and Co-Founder of Neo Modulus (Suzhou) Medical Sci-Tech Co., Ltd., where they lead the establishment of a new medical device company in Suzhou, China. Prof. Dr. Thorsten'srole involves building a production facility and overseeing the production of a patented bio-resorbable product for the treatment of large full-thickness wounds.

Prior to this, Prof. Dr. Steinberg worked at the University Medical Centre Freiburg, Center for Dental Medicine, Division of Oral Biotechnology. Here, they held positions as the Head of Laboratory and the Head of the GLP-Test Facility. In these roles, they managed research and development projects for medical devices, such as wound healing membranes and antimicrobial polymers, from the initial stages until regulatory and CE approval processes.

Prof. Dr. Steinberg also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University Medical Center of Heidelberg and as a Researcher PhD Student at the German Cancer Research Center (dkfz). During their time at these institutions, they conducted research on vaccination strategies against human papillomavirus infection and contributed to the field of medical research.

Prof. Dr. Thorsten Steinberg began their education at Heidelberg University, where they obtained a Diploma in Biology with a focus on cell biology and molecular biology. Prof. Dr. Thorsten then pursued further studies at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Faculty of Biology, and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology and Cell Biology from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they went on to Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Medical Faculty, where they completed their Habilitation (Venia Legendi) in Experimental Cell Biology from 2005 to 2007. Later, from 2008 to 2012, they attended The University of Freiburg and obtained the title of Professor (apl).
