Krishan Chawla

Krishan Chawla is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in materials engineering. Currently serving as a Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since 1998, Chawla has also held professorships at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 1985 to 1997 and at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a brief period in 1984-1985. Chawla earned both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1965 and 1971, following a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, completed in 1965.
