Joel Pumple

Permafrost Archive Science (pacs) Lab Installation Manager/technical Lead at University of Alberta

Joel Pumple has diverse work experience in the field of geology and environmental services. Joel started their career as a Research/Field Assistant at the Yukon Research Centre in 2013, where they collected core samples and conducted measurements on ice volume and organic carbon. Joel then worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta from 2010 to 2016, teaching lab components for geology and geomorphology courses. Joel also worked as a Geomorphologist at Madrone Environmental Services from 2017 to 2018, conducting stability assessments and hazard assessments for forestry clients. Currently, Joel serves as the Permafrost ArChive Science (PACS) Lab Installation Manager/Technical Lead at the University of Alberta.

Joel Pumple pursued a Master's Degree in Quaternary and permafrost sciences from the University of Alberta, which they completed between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a specialization in Geology from the same university from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, in 2016 Joel achieved the Duolingo French Fluency: Elementary certification from Duolingo.
