Alamgir Hosain

Alamgir Hosain is currently serving as a GRA Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory since May 2024 and holds the position of Assistant Professor and University Lecturer at the University of Barishal since January 2017. Alamgir is an active Student Member of the American Geophysical Union and presented at the AGU Fall Meeting in 2014. Previously, Alamgir served as President and General Secretary of the SEG Student Chapter at the University of Memphis, conducting research seminars and organizing programs. Alamgir's professional experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Earthquake Research and Information, and at the University of Dhaka, as well as geological positions with Halliburton and Chevron. Alamgir obtained a Ph.D. in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Memphis, following a Master of Science in Geophysics and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Dhaka.
