Kamran Khan is an Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham, where employment began in January 2023. Prior to this role, Kamran held the position of Marie Curie Sklodowska Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on language, security, and race in the UK and Denmark. From June 2018 to January 2022, Kamran served as a New Talent post-doctoral Fellow at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, researching the Spanish citizenship test in Catalonia. Kamran's experience also includes being an Associate Lecturer at Universitat de Lleida and a Visiting Researcher at King's College London, where Kamran led a project on sociolinguistics and security funded by the British Academy. Additionally, Kamran contributed as a researcher at both the University of Birmingham and the University of Leicester, investigating experiences related to the British citizenship test. Kamran holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Linguistics from the University of Birmingham and the University of Melbourne.
