Alison Lahlafi is an accomplished academic librarian with extensive experience in library management and support. Since March 2019, Alison has served as Associate Director and Chief Librarian at the University of Bradford. Prior to this role, Alison worked at Sheffield Hallam University as Head of Library Learning & Teaching Support and as an Information Specialist & Faculty Team Leader for the Sheffield Business School from September 2008 to February 2019. Alison's earlier career includes positions at the University of Leeds from 1995 to 2008, where roles included Faculty Team Librarian, Operations Manager, and Reader Services Co-ordinator, as well as serving as Assistant Librarian and Deputy College Librarian at the Kent Institute of Art & Design from 1990 to 1995. Alison began a professional career as a Graduate Trainee at the University of Manchester in 1989. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Liverpool and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from Birmingham City University.
