Sarah Clarke

Trustee at University of Bristol

Dr Sarah Clarke is a Student Trustee on the Board. Sarah is a Paediatrician and clinical academic having worked both internationally and across the UK, gaining national recognition for her work in Paediatric Rheumatology. She has a long affiliation with the University of Bristol, having graduated in 2007 with a first class Immunology degree. Sarah then studied Medicine at the University of Oxford, before returning to the University of Bristol as a Research Associate in 2013. She is currently a postgraduate PhD student in the School of Population Health Sciences and represents paediatric trainees on the Scientific Committee of the Royal College and Paediatrics and Child Health’s British Paediatric Surveillance Unit.

Sarah is passionate about widening participation and removing barriers to higher education. For the past decade she has volunteered as a mentor for the Social Mobility Foundation and aided sixth form students with their UCAS applications. As an undergraduate and post-graduate student, Sarah has also been involved with events run by the University of Bristol Widening Participation programme, the Bright Trust, and other community outreach and public engagement initiatives.
