Gijs de Boer

Director For National Laboratory Partnerships at University of Colorado Denver

Gijs de Boer has extensive work experience in various scientific and leadership roles. Gijs is currently working as the Director for National Laboratory Partnerships at the University of Colorado and as the Director of the Board of Directors at CO-LABS, Inc. Previously, they served as a Senior Research Scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and held the position of Research Scientist at the same institution. Gijs was also the Associate Director for the Integrated Remote and In Situ Sensing Program at the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition, Gijs de Boer founded BOREAS Consulting and worked as a Project Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Gijs started their career as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Gijs de Boer earned a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Cornell University in 2002. Gijs then pursued their M.S. and PhD in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing their studies in 2009. In 2023, they obtained several certificates from Harvard Business School Online, specializing in Leadership and Management, Strategy Execution, Organizational Leadership, and Power and Influence for Positive Impact. In 2018, they also obtained a certification as an Unmanned Aircraft Pilot and Visual Observer from the University of Colorado. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in various topics such as Managing Feeling Overwhelmed, Starting a Memorable Conversation, and The Six Morning Habits of High Performers from LinkedIn.
