Catherine Rider is an Associate Professor in Medieval History at the University of Exeter, specializing in late medieval cultural and religious history with a focus on magic, popular religion, medicine, and marriage. Catherine also collaborates on research regarding the history of magic in the Inquisition records of early modern Malta. Prior to her current role, Catherine served as a Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, and Junior Research Fellow in Medieval History at Christ's College Cambridge from October 2004 to September 2007. Catherine holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History from UCL and a Master of Arts (MA) in Medieval History from King's College London.
