David Cottrell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at The University of Georgia since August 2019. Prior to this role, Cottrell served as a Lecturer in Quantitative Methods and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Program in Quantitative Social Science (QSS) at Dartmouth College from September 2015 to August 2019. Cottrell's academic journey began at the University of Michigan, where Cottrell worked as a Research Assistant and Graduate Student Instructor from June 2009 to September 2015, earning a PhD and Master of Arts in Political Science. Earlier professional experience includes serving as an Employment Assistant at Visa from June 2007 to June 2008. Cottrell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Davis, obtained in 2006.
