Javier Zambrano is the current VP for Advancement & University Relations at University of Houston-Downtown. Prior to their current position, they served as the Vice President for Development at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley from August 2015 to April 2022. Javier also served as the Executive Director of ¡Adelante! U.S. Education Leadership Fund from November 2010 to August 2015, where they connected Corporate America to some of the top Latino college students from across the United States. Javier Zambrano has also served as the Director of Development at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - El Paso from December 2009 to October 2010 and as the Executive Director of Development at Texas A&M University-Kingsville from December 2006 to December 2009. Prior to their positions at universities, they served as the Assoc Director of Development - College of Ed at University of Texas at San Antonio from April 2004 to December 2006 and as the Director of Development at Javier'spanic Association of Colleges and Universities from January 2000 to December 2004.
Javier Zambrano has a Master's in Public Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio, a Bachelor's in International Marketing from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and has also done Exchange Student Study Abroad through Universidad de Viña del Mar.
Javier Zambrano reports to Loren Blanchard, President. They are on a team with Akif Uzman - Dean, College of Sciences & Technology, Lynette Cook Francis - Special Advisor, and Ivonne Montalbano - Vice President, Employment Services & Operations.
