James Zarsadiaz

James Zarsadiaz is an accomplished academic serving as Associate Professor of History and Director of the Yuchengco Philippine Studies Program at the University of San Francisco since August 2013. With expertise in United States history, particularly urban and suburban history, Asian American history, cultural history, and political history, Zarsadiaz has contributed significantly to the field. Previous experience includes serving as Assistant Professor of History and Ethnic Minority Dissertation Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution from July 2014 to August 2015, along with a role as Staff Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives from March 2005 to August 2008. Zarsadiaz has also coordinated educational and professional initiatives for diverse political science scholars at the American Political Science Association from May 2007 to May 2008. An educational background includes a Ph.D. and Master’s Degree in History from Northwestern University, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies, Political Science, and History from The George Washington University.
