Michael Pelletier

Michael Pelletier currently serves as the Executive Director at the University of Houston since August 2021, following a brief transition period. Prior to this role, Michael was the U.S. Ambassador to Madagascar and Comoros from February 2019 to June 2021, and served as Dean of the School of Professional and Area Studies from September 2016 to January 2019. Previous positions include Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of State. Michael has a strong academic background with a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
