L. Damon Woods

L. Damon Woods is a seasoned professional in the field of mechanical engineering, currently serving as the Director of the UI Integrated Design Lab and as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Idaho since June 2013. Woods has held various roles, including Interim Director at the UI Integrated Design Lab and R&D positions at Alstom, focusing on the analysis of natural gas turbines. With a strong background in energy systems, Woods has contributed to building energy code updates and conducted significant research on aerodynamic principles and fluid dynamics related to wind and hydro-kinetic turbines. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho, a Master’s degree from Boise State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Montana State University-Bozeman. Additionally, Woods has experience in education as a high school math instructor and has presented research at national conferences.
