Claire Stewart

Claire Stewart currently serves as the Juanita J. and Robert E. Simpson Dean of Libraries and University Librarian at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since May 2023. Prior to this role, Claire Stewart held the position of Dean of Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from August 2019 to May 2023. Claire Stewart also served as the Associate University Librarian for Research and Learning at the University of Minnesota from January 2015 to July 2019. Earlier in career, Claire Stewart worked at Northwestern University in various leadership roles, including Head of Digital Collections and Scholarly Communication Services, Head of Digital Collections, and Head of Digital Media Services from 2000 to December 2014. Claire Stewart holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Saint Mary's College.
