Joe Menke is an experienced researcher currently serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since August 2023. Previously, Joe worked at the University of Michigan from October 2021 to May 2023, where contributions included the development of an information extraction system and a knowledge graph focused on diabetes research. Additional roles include serving as a Knowledge Management Consultant at Whitby et al, developing an NLP relation extraction system, and holding various positions at SciCrunch Inc., where Joe led product development and scientific curation efforts including the creation of the SciScore system and the Antibody Registry. Joe holds a Master's degree from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with a Business Minor from the University of California, San Diego, and is pursuing a PhD in Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
