Tariq Ali

Pro-vice-chancellor For Global Engagement & Partnerships at University of Liverpool

Tariq Ali is currently serving as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement & Partnerships at the University of Liverpool, where the focus is on expanding international research and educational collaborations. Additionally, Tariq Ali holds positions as a member of the Council of the Foundation For Science and Technology, and as a member of the UKRI International Strategic Advisory Group. Tariq Ali has been active with the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics and serves on the Advisory Board of Quantum Exponential, as well as as Minister for Quantum/Cleantech at 360ip. A Senior Visiting Fellow at Imperial College London's Grantham Institute for Climate Change and Environment, Tariq Ali has also held roles as Director of the Energy & Environment Office at Imperial College, and on multiple boards and councils, contributing to various initiatives in energy, manufacturing, and industrial policy. Academic credentials include a PhD in Astrophysics from Imperial College London, an MSc in Astronomical Technology from The University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in Astronomy from UCL, complemented by advanced studies at Harvard Law School and Columbia Business School.
