Karen Muller Smith

Karen Muller Smith, PhD, is a Professor of Biology and Interim Department Head at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where responsibilities include research, mouse vivarium management, teaching, and mentoring since August 2012. Smith also serves as the Associate Dean of the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences, focusing on operations, seminar organization, and annual report preparation. Prior to this role, Smith was an Associate Research Scientist at Yale University's Child Study Center from June 2003 to July 2012. Smith obtained a PhD in Genetics from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in Cytogenetics from the University of Connecticut.
