Mark Zappi

Mark Zappi serves as the Executive Director of the Energy Institute of Louisiana and UL Dean of Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since August 2005, specializing in energy development and application as well as site remediation and waste treatment. Prior experience includes a tenure at Mississippi State University from March 1996 to August 2005 as the Swalm Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the DOE Mississippi Research Consortium for the Utilization of Biomass and the Environmental Technology Development Laboratory. Academic credentials include a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and both MS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University.
