Barbara McKeen

Barbara McKeen is an experienced Human Resources professional with a robust background in HR and safety consulting, currently serving as the Human Resources Director for the University of Maine System since November 2022. In addition to this role, Barbara has been the Principal at HR & Safety Consultants of Maine since 2006, specializing in providing consulting services to small and mid-sized organizations. Previous positions include Human Resources Manager for Alltrista Plastics LLC from 2019 to 2022 and Lead Human Resource Manager for the State of Maine from 2017 to 2019, focusing on employee development, recruitment, retention, and labor relations. Barbara holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management and Leadership from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and a certificate from the New England School of Banking at Williams College.
