Kelley Strout

Director Umaine Nursing at University of Maine

Kelley Strout has extensive work experience in the field of nursing and academia. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Wellness Educator at Martin's Point Health Care. In 2010, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University. From 2012 to 2015, Kelley served as the Coordinator of Assessment and Program Evaluation as well as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of New England. In 2015, they joined the University of Maine as an Assistant Professor, later transitioning to the role of Director of UMaine Nursing in 2019. Currently, Kelley holds the position of Associate Professor at UMaine Nursing, starting in 2020.

Kelley Strout holds a PhD in Nursing, which they obtained from Northeastern University during the period 2010-2013. Prior to their doctoral studies, they obtained a Masters in Nursing from the University of Maine between 2007 and 2009. Kelley also holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the same university, which they earned from 2002 to 2006. Kelley completed their high school education at John Bapst Memorial High School and received a diploma in 2002. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained several certifications, including being a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Qualified Teacher Level One from Brown University School of Professional Studies in 2024, a Certified Wellness Program Coordinator from Champan Institute in 2009, and a Certified Wellness Coach from WellCoaches in 2009.
