Stephanie Shonekan currently serves as Dean at the University of Maryland since July 2022 and has held various leadership roles at the University of Missouri-Columbia since August 2011, including Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Science, where responsibilities included faculty development, graduate studies, and promoting an inclusive culture. In addition to these roles, Stephanie Shonekan is a Professor of Music and affiliated faculty in Black Studies, serves as Co-Director of the Michael A. Middleton Center for Race, Citizenship, and Justice, and has experience as a Faculty Fellow for the Provost's Office. Prior academic positions include Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Professor of Humanities at Columbia College Chicago. Early career experience includes consulting roles at Accenture. Stephanie Shonekan earned academic credentials from Indiana University Bloomington.
