Kristi Hottenstein

Kristi Hottenstein was appointed vice chancellor for enrollment management in 2017. With nearly two decades of experience in enrollment management and student affairs, Hottenstein served as vice president of student services at Jackson College and dean of students at Adrian College. She has led multiple enrollment and retention initiatives that resulted in significant enrollment increases and major improvements in retention. She has taught various courses in counseling, higher education, and college success strategies at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Hottenstein provides leadership in the field as a peer reviewer for associations like the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and as a member of the Michigan College Access Network’s Higher Education Advisory Council. She holds a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Toledo, a masters in Higher Education Counseling from the University of LaVerne and a bachelors in Sociology from Alma College. Kristi is also a licensed professional counselor in the state of Michigan, and holds a supervisory certification.
